A powerful, well-resourced integrated amplifier continues to be regarded as the heart of a high-quality stereo system. A growing number of users own a comprehensive array of digital audio sources, hence the requirements asked of an amplifier have changed. The RA-1570 is a prime example of how to blend tried-and-tested analogue design with contemporary digital components in order to reproduce any source with a performance that will put even die-hard enthusiasts in awe.
Subsequent power supply segments built with low-tolerance parts, including T-Network capacitors, provide both exact voltage and current required to ensure unrestricted signal reproduction. The RA-1570's input section is substantially more flexible than that found in most integrated amplifiers. In recognition of the growing popularity of digital sources, this amplifier provides a front panel USB input for easy connection of a wide variety of music storage devices including Apple iPods, iPhones, and iPads. A rear panel asynchronous PC-USB input supporting files up to 24/bit/192kHz is provided. In addition, two coaxial (RCA) and optical (TOSlink) inputs respectively provide connections for LPCM music sources including popular streaming devices with up to 24-bit word lengths sampled at 192kHz. Importantly, it is possible to set the level on these sources for use with devices that provide their own volume control. Analogue inputs include balanced XLR connectors as well as conventional RCA female connectors.
A Wolfson WM8740 stereo D/A converter with selectable digital filters performs the critical conversion from digital data to analogue signals.
Discrete parts are used for the Class A/B output stage in order to ensure detailed reproduction of any signal and with virtually any loudspeaker. The power output, an ample 120 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms, is substantial, for it is a continuous two-channels-driven-simultaneously rating.
Notable product features include separate pre-out/main-in connectors, a legible VFD display for set-up and operation, precisely calibrated electronic volume control as well as ROTEL Link option for simple system integration.
Founded in Japan in 1966 with technical development from England. This amalgamation has led to exceptionally well-balanced price / performance ratio.
